Focus IssueSilicon Photonics
IntroductionChinese Optics Letters (COL) invites original manuscript submissions for a Focus Issue on Silicon Photonics to be published in April 2009. Recent progress of silicon-based micro/nano optoelectronic devices has made significant impact on many academic disciplines and technical fields, particularly in the fields of light sources and modulators. This focus issue will include excellent review articles and original contributions covering the rapid advances and tremendous breadth of this emerging technical area. The following is a representative and nonexclusive list of areas in which papers are solicited. 1. Lasers, amplifiers, emitters 2. Modulators, switches, detectors, sensors 3. Superlattice, quantum well, quantum wire, quantum dot photonic devices 4. Plasmonics 5. Photovoltaics 6. Quantum information 7. Other
